1/7/17 - Scottsdale Motorsports Gathering - Cars from the AZ Concours and the Russo and Steele auction. Yeah, that might be foreshadowing.
1/10/17 - Media preview at the 2017 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction
1/14/17 - Panel discussions at the Biltmore.
1/15/17 - The 2017 Arizona Concours d-Elegance. The valet lot is usually the second best show of the day.
1/18-1/21 - Gooding & Co. This is one of the candy store auctions, where grail cars just await your golden ticket(s). The obvious stars for us are the Stratos, the Lincoln, a wonderfully grungy, garage-found Porsche 356, an RS200. A Vincent Black Shadow!
|"We're from the Factory Team."|
1/18-1/21 - RM Sothebys - Another candy store, with a free preview. We're most interested in the Reventon and the Veyron Super Sport.(And the '60 Lincoln and the 66 Caddy).
Yes both Gooding and RM have a bunch of Astons and Lambos and Ferraris we'll drool over.
Bonham's (1/17-1/19) looks intriguing this year. They have a Lagonda, an Abarth Scorpione and an R5.
The Silver auctions at Fort McDowell are a semi-annual thing. Their online offerings are a bit tough to shop - the website is right out of the 20th Century. They did sell a boss (replica) Cougar Eliminator I absolutely loved last year.
Worldwide Auctions (1/15/1/18). This is the first time I heard of this auction. It's tucked away in a slowly transforming former auto hub next to Papago. The farm-found Aston and the M1 are the eye catchers here.
That just leaves the Big Dogs - Russo and Steele and Barrett-Jackson.Those monster events will need their own separate deep dives.
