Toyota Celica

I guess nobody owned a French curve at Toyota studios in the 1980s.
I remember hating the coupes because the trapezoid taillights were aesthetically wrong to me - taller on the outboard side and tapering inward. Keep in mind, this was at the height of badge engineering? Shapes and textures of the grilles and tails were sometimes the only difference between brands, and the unifying element within the brand..

In contrast, I thought the flounder face headlights were cool
