door handles in high school study hall (late 70s). They were super aerodynamic.
I also remember asking my mom whether there were any automatic clutches. She assumed I meant automatic (i.e., hydraulic) transmissions.
Now I drive a dual clutch quasi-automatic car. There's no torque converter. It's like the drag queen of trannies. [Ed.: Ouch! Really?!] It looks and feels like a slushbox, but underneath, it' s more of a robot that is busy slipping clutches and trying not to blow up.
